Just had a read and yes it does have a backup value preset. So should be ok to disconnect.

Just ran her and disconnected and runs better:eek::eek: Interestingly when disconnected the reading went to -40c then went blank??will do more indepth diag when home
Thanks again for your help

The faulty sensor must still be giving a reading that's considered to be within range, when you disconnected it the ECU knows for sure there's a fault and goes to the default. Having been to Poland a few times in the winter -23C is a very realistic possibility!

Replaced the sensor when I took old one out it just span so had to nibble the plastic of it was full of white oxidation crud no wonder it was confused see what that white powder does to footballers :D:D
