Ok the search just got my serious, Just soldish the GTR, well I have to sort something with it then it will be sold.
So I will have 7k to play with

Reet, just done an Autotrader search within 60 miles of a random Bedford postcode min price £4k max price £7k. There are some right motors to be had between about 4600 and 5600 (a lot cheaper than you thought) including a Jap import 27000 miler...

Checked that import and it's gone (not surprising)
Want a vogue really but are you just paying for the badge and how do I know its real

Depends on the model year, but there are certain bits of trim that are only on a Vogue and not available as an optional extra on other models. Can't remember off the top of my head, but there was a buyers guide to them in LRM or LRO about 18 months ago that mentioned the differences.

Similar to the one another of my mates has got - same colour, X reg Vogue. Steering wheel looks a little worn and so does to gear lever for only 50k miles. Ask to see all previous MOT's as it might have had a "haircut"...

Not necessarily. The correct one will turn up, you just have to be a little patient and pounce quickly when it comes up and pay cash for it. Keep looking, and never buy the first one you see - 2 weeks before I bought my classic I very nearly shelled out £3.5k for an LPG powerred R reg Disco V8 ES spec, but the engine needed some attention. Umming and ahhing for a bit paid dividends ;)

If you are only going to use it on weekends and the odd run then LPG isn't such a big issue
You will get more car for your money without LPG - go the Jap import route if you can, you won't believe how clean and rust free they are
They will also all be low mileage

GrahamRRV8, you shoukd get a far range for 7k ish poss 2001 but with 60k or more on the clock(thats not a bad thing as you could buy one with 40k on thats been clocked) remember its cond thats inportant but has i said for 7k you may pick up a 2000-2001 vogue?
