I (well I say I my girlfriend) has decided to get a v8 cause they sound better  and I kind of want to know what sort of prices I should expect to pay.

I have seen a lot of posts saying oh got it for that and this and that but autotrader and pistonheads seems a lot more expensive, although there are some nice cars out there.

Is this over priced?

10 out of 10 to your girlfriend! Mine loves Range Rovers too, which is excellent because it means I never have to justify my love affair with them.

Anyway, enough mutual congratulation....

In response to your thoughts, that does seem like a very reasonable price. I think my observations would be to check which trim spec it actually is. If it's on a 'V' plate from '99 I would estimate that it's from the former half of the year which would give it the refined 'thor' engine etc and the later model type electronic revisions. However, items such as park distance control were not at this time OEM fit. I strongly suspect, also, that the navigation system will be aftermarket too.

On this basis I would have thought that it is likely to be an HSE with goodies added and as a result somebody has decided to call it an autobiography (the real give away is the LR Special Vehicles plate under the bonnet). Ignore the badging, basically, because it's often an add on.

So, you will be getting (I should imagine) a '99 HSE with aftermarket add on's with the better engine/electronics package (arguably) and relatively low mileage. You'd need to see the car and check for all the usual suspects but if it's sound and mechanically well I'd say thats right on the money!

I'm not sure if that's helped at all but best of luck with it anyway!

I would say it's a little over priced as there is a 2000 X plate for sale in Leeds (at a non LR dealership) 4.6 HSE with 67000 on the clock for £5995. It depends on your location (edit your profile so we can see), but in Yorkshire/Lancs/Humberside area the prices are absolutely on the floor. A mate bought an R reg Vogue, 72000 miles, one owner, private sale, mint condition for £3500 cash - that was in Huddersfield.

Take a look, if you like it and the engine appears to be a good one, go for it, but never offer the asking price, start a grand lower and barter ;)

I have edited the profile....
I live in Bedford we have Rogers 4x4 here but Jesus they are madly expensive 2000 X reg Vogue, V.G.C £9,995

After having had the engine rebuilt 12 months ago I dont think I can afford to sell it

2 grand......but as I see it ..should last me another 10 years of luxury powerful motoring:D

It'll probably not be covered in the warranty.....one of my hoses blew on the motorway so the engine just overheated.....new t-hat liners and engine rebuild

Or strike it lucky like I did - soft dash Vogue came in as part-ex at a non LR dealer, bought it straight off him as seen for £1400 - Had an RPi Engineering rebuild and tune up only a few thousand miles earlier and they didn't really know what they had ;)
