morning all,

I need two rear boxes for my 99 4.6HSE,
I've previously had some fitted by a local centre a few years ago but the quality was crap-a lot noisier.

Does anyone know of any on-line sellers who sell good quality standard exhausts-I liked the sound of the original factory fit but was too tight to buy one.:doh:

Have you looked at some of the stainless stuff. I have been surprised how close some of the pricing has been between them and good quality mild steel?

I've had a full stainless system fitted to an E class Merc for less than I could buy a 'normal' system.

As everything in life...you get what you pay for and can afford. You can't expect to get the same levels of noise and life out of a budget priced exhaust which will last probably around 2-3 years.
The P38 stainless exhausts cost around £500 upwards but have a lifetime warranty (For as long as you own the car). I have read that the stainless tends to be a bit "Throatier" regarding noise levels though.
All down, at the end of the day to how deep your pockets are and what you are looking for noise wise.

You could try looking at Barnes Silencer Sevices in Anglesey. I bought a complete system from them for Er Indoors Vectra and was 100% satisfied. Prices are reasonable and they ship fast.

Thanks I,m in Caerphilly South wales-I'll have a wander around the net.

I should have bought proper ones a few years ago-the stuffing is starting to come out of one!
