Hi. There's a little something that's buging me. There's a green lane I like to use. It's sleep with tree roots and loose stones. A few years ago I use to drive a SWB series 3, and even though it had the cheepest most rubbish road tyres money can buy, summer or winter, wet or dry, it NEVER had a problem getting up this lane, and I drove it up there dozens of times.
I now have a 1984 LWB 110, and 2 out of the 3 times I've attempted this lane it has failed! And yes, before anyone asks it was in low range with dif locks engaged.
I'm wondering what the reason for this could be. Is it a case of SWB is better than LWB? Is it that the series 3 is better at the rough stuff? Or is it that I am loosing me touch?
Any ideas?
Cheers
Fran

There are an awful lot of variables. 90's are generally regarded as better off road due to their manouverability and shorter wheel base. In some situations though, 110's can be better. I've only had my current 110 stuck once and that was cos I ditched it. I've only had my previous 110 stuck once and the 110 and 109 before that never.

Are you sure it's not just a case of the surface of the lane being different to what it was?
