Morning all
Dont flame me until you read this:D
Has anyone replaced the boot floor with ali checker plate and riveted it in
Had a look at previous posts/did search but they all say weld in a new one:eek:
Cheers
Paul

I have read about people riveting a new panel in before and some say it's been ok at MOT time and others have said it failed so it may be worth you asking the MOT tester at your ussual garage if he would pass it.

I THINK..may be wrong though, that Dave 'The Big Lad' riveted a floor into his with no welding a couple of years back.

ALuminium plate would cost more than the steel boot floor, which are widely available from panel suppliers etc. By all means if you can get it cheap, go for it. Its a fairly simple flat plate. Don't forget to cut the hole for the fuel tank access hole.

Good point about the hole for the fuel sender.
Reason i asked is I have never welded in my life and dont want to blow my self up/electrocute my self :D
