Hello,

Wondering if anyone has a Land Rover dated from the 70's up to 82, possibly a 3 Series. Shooting a short film in the Cotswolds set in 1982, and need a car as part of the set at 2 locations. Would likely not be driven, only for our lead character to get in and out of, and to act out a scene inside.

Just doused in fullers earth then.
I much prefer changing the odd panel colour with studio floor paint :D

I’m sure someone could help. Locations might help. Then a local member could pop over.

Toddington and Winchcombe in Gloucestershire
I’m local (Warwick) have an ‘82 series 3 swb.
Would want some more detail on the usage before agreeing, when would it be needed?

What condition does it need to be in, that photo is a couple of years old now so it is no longer as shiny, still tidy though, and polishs up well if needed. it now has a series IIA grill making it look older externally.

Edit: found a more recent photo from the nice weather a couple of weeks ago

Excellent, OK.

We'd be filming on the morning of the 21st and all day 22nd July. Would need the car on the 21st and for a couple hours in the morning of the 22nd (as we're filming indoors a lot that day).

The 21st would be just off a public road past Hayles near Winchcombe, we're in the process of getting permission. The car would be stationary in a field overlooking the town, and our actor would be standing next to it, then getting in and starting the engine. He would not drive it at all.

The 22nd we're filming in Toddington at a home with private off-road driveway, here the actor would be required to get in and act out a scene in the driver's seat. We may need to see the car coming down the driveway, but can work in such a way so that the car owner can drive it and not be distinguishable on film.

EDIT: Now only needed 22nd July

Definitely not a blue film haha. More of a post-war drama.

Doesn't need to be in perfect condition, the rougher the better really. No need to tidy up/clean/polish

Would be more authentic if he got in tried to start it, swore at it then got his tools out.
Don’t worry. If I end up using mine It’s fairly authentic, it’s a diesel so will get in, hold the glow plugs for a minute, turn it over repeatedly and will then fire on two if you are lucky before eventually starting properly with a puff of smoke.

The director won’t want a red one.

Land rovers are green.

It’s OK studio floor paint comes off with a spot of ammonia in water. ;)

Needed 22nd July, from around 8 or 9 o'clock in Toddington near Cheltenham.

We can offer £50 for the day and cover travel.

PM if interested

Snatch his hand off but only if there is a chuck wagon. :D

You can eat more than fifty dabs in two days :D:D

Some outfit was filming an ad in the house over the road from us a while back, they gave me £150 not to park outside my house for the day so they could put one of their trucks there.

Yes but the location manager was given three undrid quid for you :D

Last one I did a coach and driver was budgeted for over five months to ferry extras. The chap in charge of it just bought an Espace and pocketed the rest. Including the sale of the people carrier at the end.

It’s rife I tell ya. ;)
