Ive had this bad starting for a while now ,,, slowly getting worse,,fuel pump running flat out on switching on,,, then couple of days back it died,, wouldnt run over 1500rpm,,,,,,,,,, yep shot pump,,,, fitted new one now runs a treat but i still have the bad starting PLUS my fuel guage is all to cock,,, put £30 in the tank and it only made it to the first white mark and after 8 miles had dropped off the mark and warning light came on.....
Can the guage be recalibrated or is it a mess with the float job ( hope not).......... Second any ideas on the bad starting,,, once she fires up all is well, it seems to happen if i leave it for a couple of hours then try to start.
Cheers lads

Isnt the fuel gauge sender part of the pump? who fitted the pump?
When was the last service?

Hi Datatek, I think you could be right mate, dohhhhh another job for the flexable friend lol lol .... as for the bad starting it seems to be clearing itself, need to leave it over night now and see where we go,,,,,,,,, however overall its running better now so would think the old pump was dodgy,,,, seems to pick up better at the top end than it did

Well we had a hard frost last night so this morning was test day,,,, switched on, waited for the heaters, hit the key,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, burst into life better than ever,,, think its safe to say my bad starting was the pump,,,,,,,, something i did notice ( might be my imagination ) it realy pulled well in the cold air,, just wondering if a a bigger intercooler would perk the old girl up a bit

Don't waste your money, just clean out the one you have then get the actual turbo boost pressure checked to make sure it is at the manufacturers setting. They drop off with time and can be adjusted.
