My wifes 40th Birthday took us to a nice Hotel for a few days. The hotels courtesy shuttle vehicle was a new D5 and I couldn't resist sneaking mine close for photo opportunities. I prefer my D2 for sure. The D5 was supplied by Belfasts main LR dealer Charles Hurst and carries promo insignia, my D2 still displays its original Charles Hurst number plates but that is where the similarities end!

Agree with you there, new ones basically posh taxi's
Unfortunately I think the Defender will be going the same way

Thank you, it is my family sunny Sundays and holidays vehicle, it spends most of it's time in my garage with a dustcover over it - sad I know and certianly not what they were intended for and not what most would do with it but there you go.

Regards underneath, I am lucky that it's one previous owner never worked it, no towbar ever fitted and no submersion in water or mud and yet he still diy waxoyled it every year so the underneath was very good for a D2 and then I took it to the next level to keep it that way using various Dinitrol type products inside and outside of the rails etc.

Beautiful!!

Thank you. My first green oval tbh, purchased a year ago from a lovely gent who with some of his retirement fund treated himself to a new Discovery Sport and therefore, had no further need for this D2 which he had owned since six months old - Charles Hurst Belfast Land Rover owned it for its first six months, unsure what for, maybe a managers fleet car, wouldn't have been a demonstrator because it was registered in August 2004 ie the last month of the D2 before the D3 showed its face in September. Anyhow, I have enjoyed owning and caring for it.

Thanks. Like you I intend to keep it standard, it hasn't even had an egr delete let alone a remap and decat and it never will in my ownership.... tottally standard it will remain.

The interior is nice too.
