Right, my Landy guy keeps telling me i need to change the "doughnut" shaped bush on the rear, that gives the rear axle a bit of play, only 3-4 mm but its enough to give a slight wander.
If i ask him face to face i'll sound stooopid, so i'll ask on here cuz i dont need to face any of you lot
Whats the bush called, where is it exactly (ive got a haynes destruction manual), roughly how much to replace and any tips etc etc etc.

Cmon guys, someone must know what im on about.

Kenny might know. He was talking about this on his last post about 'is it the diff?'

My only guess is that it is the Upper link balljoint. This is the only single part on the rear axle that does not have a pair and alows movement?

Upper link balljoint. Right, i'll have a look for that.
Any other advances before i try and find it in my Haynes?

aye it sounds like the upper link balljoint on the rear A frame.

If you'rs is a newish haynes manuel like mine look at page 11.3 and 11.4 you can se the layout of both front and rear axle's

I only guess at this part as I cant see any other one that is alone.

Here goes lenny, If ya look underneath the car towards the rear, you will see the propshaft heading towards the diff, just before it reaches the diff you should see a thick black rubber round "doughnut" as they call it, It has about six bolts going through it and if yours is shagged it will probably have a kind of material coming through it, I thought i had dragged a scarf along or something but apparently its what is inside the rubber and when that goes the material starts to come through it....
Price wise for the "doughnut" is around 40-50 quid which for a bit of rubber is bloody expensive! i supose you could fit it yaself if ya are competent as it dont look to hard to do and access is no problem, My mechanic did it about 20 minutes(still charged me an hours labour the thieving git!)
