Singvogel Well-Known Member Apr 14, 2013 #4 As I am now in the Land of Far Far Away it's going to be mid-May before me and the summer tyres meet up again. I had hoped to change them over at the Easter weekend before I set off but the snow was still there when I left Bonnie Scotland. I needed the winters in Austria on the way down here - but doubt they'll be needed on the way home. Great trip so far - I did just over 800miles in nine and a half hours, last Monday. 3000rpm - switched on the cruise-control (Mrs S calls it the auto-pilot ) and just watched France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany go by. Stopped in Austria for a mountain pass or two. Over the 2530 miles we managed an average of 36.5mpg fully loaded with the roof box too.
