Thankyou all for your help and advice, been to two different garages and loads that did not know anything about this vehicle or refused to work on it, hmmm, anyway seems like guess what the problem is, the frigging "HEAD GASKET" can't belive it. I always thought that the temperature gauge would rise and the vehicle would overheat along with depoits in the water and white crap when removing the oil filler cap, hey ho im a plumber not a mechanic, so chaps does this sound feasable or is it another load of bollocks? one kind of good thing is that the previous berk who owned it has agreed to pay for half the cost, still a bastard, what goes round comes round I hope! Thanks to you all, where's that fu##ing gun?

he has spent the money on a reliant robin or coffin or something like that, seriously he has not got the money anymore bought another vehicle(bastard) guess i have to repair the fuc##r before getting rid

Pretty sure you are covered for up to 30 days legally with any transaction.
Especially if the goods are not as advertised..get on the trading standards website and have a look and as Mad said do it quick..

your previous posts dont describe hgf, more like something is loose ?

what condition is the oil, coolant, and expansion vessle, is it loosing coolant ?

regarding returning the motor, if it was a private sale i would guess you dont have any rights to return it, as it would be sold as seen buyer tried and tested?
saying that , who would sell from there own home a vehicle that had a known fault , i know i wouldnt , wouldnt want you comming round with that shot gun:mad:

strange things happen,,,,,,last year a guy i work with sold his car to another work mate, and knowing that the cam belt was due for replacement the new owner arranged for a mechanik to collect the car from the guys house, to carry out a cam belt change , in the five mile journey to the garage ,, guess what happened

the cam belt snapped ,
