hi guys - I've recently got hold of a 2.5 na diesel engine
I've heard / seen it running but want to clean it up etc and paint it etc

I got hold of an engine stand - like this
stand.jpg

question is -- do the black brackets attach to the clutch housing bolts (they look too small)
or do I use the four big bolts between a gearbox and a bellhousing??

is the engine going to be ok - just hanging from one end?? without support of front engine mounts??

many thanks for any help

int used one on a landy injun . on other engines ave just tried to keep it central with the center of the crank/flywheel in the center of the black plate.

the engine stand should have a swl on it somewhere but i'm pretty sure it will cope with a landy engine.

ok -- the stud on the clutch housing are quite small - too short to go through the black brackets on the stand??

do I need to get some threaded bar??

help?

i wouldn't used threaded bar as they are usually very soft and not very strong. just get some long bolts

ok - cheers - anyone know the thread size for the clutch housing holes?

will the engine be secure only on 4 bolts like that??

it would be a good idea, that way you can change the rear seal while the injun is out.
