Is there a torque setting for the engine sump plug.

Going to change the oil and obviously fit a new seal to the plug but don't want to crush it and have it leak.

Thanks

there is but i never bother wiff that ****e, tighten up and a nip should do it, always fit a new washer earthling. . . .:)

On the TD4 engine the torque setting for the sump plug is 28 NM, and I would advise you to use it. The threads in the sump are alloy and its a steel plug, if you strip the threads, you will be right in the ' S--te'.
