I have glued my manifold back together and it's holding. Although it seems it has split in more than one place and there is still a slight weep.

But I left the small plastic top cover whilst driving and checking for black smoke etc. Get home, pop bonnet and there is oil splatter everywhere. It coming out of the far left screw hole in the rocker cover where the screw for the top cover screws in.

On far left of engine in pic is the screw hole.

All filters inc crankcase have been changed. Why would oil blow out of here? Blocked internal pipe work in rocker cover?

How easy is it to remove the rocker cover on a TD4?

Anyone want to buy a 2003 td4?! :scratching_chin:

Oh ok! many thanks, will do. I thought maybe breather was blocked and it forced the weak plastic from the machining process out.

Cheers.

I thought mine was knackered too when I left this bolt out. Turns out it's the same in all TD4s. Just put the bolt back in and it's fine.

I also found out the hard way and I knew all about that bolt hole but for got .and I got the son in law to look underneath for me (bad Back) and he said he thought it was coming out of sump ,it just shows how far a little oil will travel,
