Running engines at light loading and undertemperature will induce bore glazing with (fairly) modern engines, especially diesels.

I much prefer diesel oil in my engines than that designed only for petrol.

The concentric rotor (Hoborn - Eaton) oil pumps on the serpentine and later engines tend to wear the alloy housings if the oil gets too dirty.

Interesting about oil pump housings wearing when the oil gets dirty. I was undecided about just having new gears or having the whole front cover. In the end I felt the front cover was actually good(ish) value as it was OEM (not hoborn but same castings/quality) and had the seals installed and was complete.
I guess most oils are diesel and petrol these days(rimula obvious exception.)but which oil/s do you favour?
