I'm not sure if they meant oversized for the engine or oversized from the original pump. The one on the right is the one that came with the car when I bought it. I don't know if it is original. The one on the left is the one that failed. Attachments IMG_20200617_172827.jpg 275.9 KB · Views: 102

olsver Member Jun 17, 2020 #23 I've checked the spline carefully and there is a chunk missing from the pump end of the driving rod. My guess is that this is the source of the metal in the pump. It isn't easy to see but it is quite a lot that has broken off Attachments IMG_20200617_172651.jpg 91.5 KB · Views: 83

olsver Member Jun 17, 2020 #25 There is also wear at the other end. Maybe from when the metal went through the pump gears. Attachments IMG_20200617_172727.jpg 127.1 KB · Views: 82
olsver Member Jun 17, 2020 #26 It doesn't seem to have damaged the drive underneath the injection pump. (Sorry for my lack of correct terms) Attachments Screenshot 2020-06-17 at 16.59.36.png 505.7 KB · Views: 108
