Hi all first post of what may be many! oil light comes on when engine heats up not going through any oil. HELP PLEASE narrow my options.

If the light is only on at idle then it points to worn main/big end bearings

it comes on when engine oil heats up and the warmer the engine the longer it stays on. Hopefully not big ends, as the engine is veryquite with no smoke ect.

Just a thought before you hit the panic button, change out the oil pressure switch, I have seen quite few go down over the years and give false readings @ idle...very cheap too

hope this helps

PS and also change the oil and filter, you never know she may have the wrong oil, too low a viscosity, and /or the filter maybe a cheap pattern one restricting flow...I always do the simple things 1st
