My trusty old 200 tdi (LHD spanish spec) was one of the best multi use cars I have ever owned. Mon - Fri running around town (brilliant A/C system) the odd airport run thrown in, weekends thrashed within an inch of it's life on local challenge events, sad to see it go but an injury tat will never be 'right' prevents futher competitions. This car rarely leaked but if it did it was repaired straight away. As I am now more expedition orientated I have gone for the Landcruiser 80, bigger, faster, smoother and pretty much as good on fuel (how did the Japs do that?) however, it is NOT as good off road when it comes to the twisty bits with it's long wheelbase, and when it comes down to stock suspension travel the old Disco (remember no antiroll bars) was in a league of it's own!

The Toyota had a couple of leaks as well, speedo drive 'O' ring, front swivel and A/C pipe but again they have been fixed although I know another A/C pipe is showing a little weep so that will be next. I will say the Disco was also easier to work on ans really miss that car. :(

Oh that's it tears are in my eyes, I'm going now.

regards

Dave
