Bought a 2006 TD4 Freelander 1 from an auction. Obviously a big risk, but happy to go with it.
The car apparently cut out on the motorway.
Started with a new battery as the existing one was shot.
When I spin the engine over, it tries to fire, but there is engine oil coming out of the top of the engine near to injector 1. It’s under pressure as it sprayed most things near it.
Any suggestions before I start stripping the top of the engine?

Hi,

Do you have a picture of the engine top ?

If it is oil, one screw is probably missing, but not related to a starting issue ...

Regards.

It was a screw that I had taken out to remove the plastic injector cover. Schoolboy error, that could have caused me wasted hours!
