OK so as stated in my new to the forum thread. I'm new to the forum :) and to tdi's

I have pressure washed the top half of the engine looking for this oil leak and there is nothing coming from up top.

It would seen the oil is coming fro the offside of the block. I will pressure wash this as soon as I can to get a better look at it. Now then as I have no experience with the 300tdi (or any tdi for that matter) engine I am aware there is a gasket between the block and the lift pump but are there any other things attached to that side of the block were oil could come from?

Thanks in advance,
Ian

Yes a vac pump that has a gasket between it and the block but the common fauld is the rivets strech that hold the cover on at the other end then it leaks oil from there

Do you mean rivets hold the vacuum pump on. I presume this is the vacuum pump for the brake servo.

Is it possible to renew the rivets or replace the bolts.

It's a really annoying leak leeching enough oil on the ground to be annoying.

The rivets that hold the end cover onto the vac pump come loose. The actual pump is bolted to the block.

Cool. I'm will take a look this afternoon if I get time.

I'm now off to do some more work to a 101 that a friend has. I'm doing a complete rewire to it
