My 90 with the disco 200tdi lump seems to have a oil leak susprisingly!
From what I can make out from underneath its running down the back of the block from the cylinder head area, is it common for the headgasket to fail on a 200tdi and leak oil? or could it just be the rocker and half moons?

It leaks overnight a few large drips, im not using the motor yet everday as its a ongoing project so it just gets pulled in and out of my workshop everyday and run for a minute at the most.

head gaskets and manifold gaskets can leak but often accompanied by noise ,rocker box would be a good place to start

Just had a good look after work and definately the head gasket thats leaking, can feel & see it running out of the back of the head and down over the bellhousing.
Oh well just another job to do!

Like most jobs on the 200tdi engine its a doddle, no timing to worry about.
