Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’m sure it’s been asked before... Can any one point me in the right direction of oils to use in the engine, transfer box and diffs please and I would like to go through and check them all now I have fixed all the little niggles.
I have a 2002 Discovery 2 td5 manual.
Thanks!

Can of worms as everyone has their favourite oils!

Google ACEA oil specifcations and get learning.

Be wary of a lot of the online oil sites as they arent always right

Iirc TD5 engine is 5/30 semi or full syn not sure what ACEA number you need, other will know for sure.
Manual gearbox is excellent with the difflock syn gear lube available from their shop.
Diffs and transfer box any old 80/90 that takes your fancy will be fine.

Dont get sucked into the syn everyhting is best as a lot of it just isnt needed.

Throw in some zinc additive or use a VW PD type oil in a TD5 or suffer premature rocker/cam pitting. Other than that stick to 15w30 full or part synthetic.

Diffs & transfer use Miller Oils TRX Synth - it's the dogs danglies.

R380, use nothing but genuine LR MTF94
