I've only ever seen that on a brand new diff on an early oil change. Put it down to the lube used during manufacture. Oil came out like silver hammerite!
Subsequent changes saw the oil look freakily similar to how it went in
EDIT: Not on a Landy I might add.... (was alternative brand of 4x4)
Is the axle/diff noisey? You normaly get some silver parts in the oil but i would be a bit worried if it looked like silver hammerite all that metal is comming from somewhere
