Im looking at fitting a oil catch tank but they mainly come with 15mm connectors the l series pipe is 20mm

Thought of cutting the breather pipe in half running it to the tank an using pipe adaptor 19mm - 16mm then a tiny bit of 15mm pipe just to connect it to the tank

Would this be ok shrinking it just to join it to the tank or would it cause to much restriction

If it's 20mm outside diameter the inside diameter may not be far off 15mm anyways.

I fitted one of these to my old car and it didn't catch anything :(

Could always make you a custom catch tank...

How about an expansion tank and PSF Tank? My engine bay looks bare in comparison to it's sister vehicle. The tanks were made by a well known fabricator , but when I asked him to make some he asked me to send pics as he couldn't remember what they were like, but strange that he knew the price.
I nearly fell off my chair when he told me. Probably the reason he couldn't remember what they looked like was that he priced them so ridiculously high that he never made any more than the ones in the pic.

Out of interest what were his prices? I quoted for some bits for an RS Cossie the other week, but because of the price of a sheet of aluminium, they came out about a fiver off the cost of a Bailey tank

For the pair - £640
I understand aluminium is expensive, but I couldn't see how he could possibly justify that price.

Feck me, an 8'X4' sheet of 3mm aluminium was about £140 last time I got a price for it a few weeks ago. Think someone is having a laugh there!

Tanks look pukka on there real eale any more pics of the rally car about ?

At the moment it looks just like any other Freelander from the outside. You need to look hard to notice anything different .Although my binmen always stop and point out the shocks, seats and cage............

And the eggsauce, and the hardtop, and the sheer coolness of it

You really are talking yourself into making me those tanks :D.

Well I could do 'em for less than £640 thats for sure lol, could do with the work at the moment... Have you got a design or something I can have a look at?

Unfortunately not. Reckon it'd be a case of having someone measure up due to the nature of the rollcage bracing coming into the engine bay. Alli-Sport owned the sister vehicle to mine for a time - using it as a "show" vehicle, hence the bespoke tanks. I nearly bought it off them, but at the time it was in need of a lot of work to put it back on the road.

Yeah I noticed that the tank on your pics was a bit intricate and ornate, they'll have made their own tanks won't they since they like their custom aluminium work? Maybe they still have some design drawings they did back then...

Don't think so, I was asked to send them the pics I had of "their" Freelander as they (rather "he") couldn't remember what they were like.

Sounds like they bought them in to me??
I can still remember what shapes of pipes and tanks I fitted into a custom built Spitfire roadster I did 20 years ago!! A long with pretty much everything else that went into that car.

Was it Allisport who quoted you £640 to make those tanks like? I'm sure I can knock 20-30 quid off the price
