Hi all, my truck has a bad draft coming in by the bonnet release lever. I've had all the carpet back, trim off & checked all the wiring/grommets in that area & can't find where it's coming in (it's so bad SHMBO has to put a blanket over her legs in the winter or I can pack the area around the bonnet release to stop it entering).
As far as I can see the foam gasket in the fr. passenger door shut is intact & I don't suffer wet carpets in either footwell so I a bit stumped.
I've found ref. to an 'oil baffle' between the N/S wing & inner wing (see links) & wondered if anyone had any info on this 'baffle' & whether it could cause a draft if it's missing, does anyone happen to have a pic. of that area with the wing off ? Any info would be much appreciated.

There is a blanking plate for something not used in the uk inside the passenger door shut. Hope the picture helps.

Hi, that's the foam gasket that 'looks' OK from what I can see of it so I will have to remove it (the blanking plate) just to make sure as you can feel the draft even with the heating on but I'm still intrigued as to what an oil baffle is doing in that region of the vehicle.
