I must admit, top posting is very annoying, you can waste ages trying to decipher what the hell is going
on!

Personally, I have no preference. Top posting is fine, as long as everybody
does it. Bottom posting is fine, as long as everybody does it. It's only
where they get mixed up that the trouble starts [1]. I always bottom post
to this NG as a courtesy to the group. What does annoy me is where people
can't be bothered to snip the irrelevant bits of a discussion, and we all
end up with 10Kb posts with one (usually not very funny) line attached at
the bottom. But we've all done it, by accident or from ignorance, so
there's no need for a flame war - a polite reminder (thank you Austin) is
enough.

[1] FWIW, and IMHE and all that, bottom posting is best when there is a
logical argument to follow in the thread. For a group with a lot of
traffic, and where you read the group regularly (ie you don't need to be
reminded what posts are about), I actually prefer top posting, as it's
quicker to read. JM2cW.

Depends which 'he' I guess. Given I didn't (until now) follow the
thread, I'd doubt I could be seen as rising to the bait. It takes a
little more bait than that to wind me up, and it helps if it's
delivered by someone who has mastered the art.

Alex, as an example, is a master baiter.
