90 300tdi R380 gbox. 2" lift QT3 degree arms.
Usage, GL's pay and play , no comps.

Anyone used either , have any issues? or all good news?

Do not need to spend the extra on the super HD ones that Mr Lewis has made. Although nice , very nice do not see the added value for what I need. Although I have seriously thought about it......;);)

I have used the DA6530 with no faults or issues, I have got a matching set for the D1 im building
but its not turned a wheel yet but I keep spending money on the fooker.

I just couldn't justify the cost of the fancy one of Mr L !!!

Just looked at the mountain of receipts it was 125.00 + vat, but the invoice was for £2094 squids FFS lol
 
I'd go for Gwynn Lewis. Bought the other one and got a Britpart!!
Not happy but got it couple of months back and only found out at weekend when I unwrapped it to fit it.
 
The Glynn Lewis one does appear to be much better made - the UJ's look far superior to standard ones for a start. If I was off roading regularly I would spend the cash - removing a prop at the side of the road is never fun.

Did yours have the hardy spicer UJ's, is there anything majorly wrong with it you can see?

The Glynn Lewis one does appear to be much better made - the UJ's look far superior to standard ones for a start. If I was off roading regularly I would spend the cash - removing a prop at the side of the road is never fun.

Prop removal is a five minute job ;), when you say the GL appears better made you mean the black one, which is a TD5 front prop? or the nice shiny blue one( which I am secretly coveting :oops: )

It can be 5 minutes - or more at the side of a busy A road lying in a puddle. Been there, don't want to repeat. I meant better than the "standard one" although it should be even better than GLs beefy one - if that makes sense.
 
Glynn Lewis one is head and shoulders above the other and you get 2 cartridges of grease with them.
Recommend to grease after you’ve off-roaded

Hi John,
you mean the black GL one or the blue GL one? or both?

I did not see anything about grease being supplied with the black GL one. Other thing is about the black GL one, is that it only goes to 22 degrees.

It's a greasable joint but not same as previous one. Any idea how to tell for sure without the hassle of removing it. As to defects, seemed a bit stiff (could just have been lying in stock for a while) and welding on prop has couple of holes (might be picky as rest of weld perfect but just not as good as I'd expect)
End of the day does job but not what I'd expected. Happy to be proved wrong.
As an aside get a fair bit from JGS and will continue to do so as service generally good but maybe I read the description wrongly or it was ambiguously worded.

So, done the deed, ordered the Gwyn Lewis ones , front and rear.

Next week , I will be like a kid at christmas.:D.....I will keep them nice, dry and clean in the living room, do not want them getting dirty :p..
