Hello all,
well, I changed the drivers side hub assembly, the disc's and pads all round and still I have the rumbling sound, which in fact has also turned into what can only be described as a "wobble" not huge but when driving I notice the passenger arm rest vibrating in time with the rumble. I think it may be time to take it to a stealer to see if they can hunt the problem down. Just hope I win the lottery unless any of you guys could think of anything to try next, tyres, balancing, anything?

Have you checked your front drive shaft universal joints. I have had to replace the rear joint on my front shaft twice. Both times the passenger side arm rest was the first indication of trouble.

thanks for the reply. Is this a difficult operation? Is it the propshaft or the driveshaft?

get under the Landy and give it a twist and a push up and down....to see if you have any play on the shaft (don't forget to take your hand brake off first though!!) for the back, you may as well check them while your under it

Dopey,
thanks for the reply. Followed the lead but couldn't find advert, pictures etc. Will keep searching. Thanks again.

Parked the car up, slight incline, not sure if that will affect the result, but, got under the car and twisted the propshafts and try to move them up and down, front and rear, but didn't seem like there was any play in the UJ's. If they were shot would it be obvious? Not sure what else to try, if the diff was shot what would the symptons be? Could the wheel balance cause the same problem?

Yer need to have on the flat as the handbrake needs to be off to check the propshafts properly.
