That cant be grindr.........I can see his face.
Well I`f only got six so looks like I`m on a looser there then but got to say the six in the l322 are a damn site quicker than the six in the p38 !He has got to catch you first, he has 7 cylinders and i have 8
Thought you already delved?I think the head off might be mine.....
You tart !!!No Respect......
Intriguing......
so you get a cheaper 3.5 block and bore it out, do you then have the bores treated or steel lined?
I presume it has the duplex chain anorl seen as it wasn't TU (read ruined)
Couldn't use many sites due to not being private, had to keep changing my passwords, numerous times on many sites. They had access to my Google account and kept changing the password I would receive a notification via text and have to change it again, just a bloody nuisance no lasting harm.
So a 4.8 hoicked out of an X5 is a no go?Nope, as long as you get the right block, the later ones and the UK/ US ones were Alusil and not Nikasil which didn't like the high sulphur fuel, so as long as it is an Alusil you can bore them out but the honing and finishing process is quite involved. i have spoken to Sunnen and have all the part numbers of the kit you need to do the job properly and I have a number of contacts that can do the machining for me up to the honing part which i would do myself but the Sunnen guy gave me a contact for a company that are already honing the Alusil engines that would do it for me if I bottled it on buying the kit. Alusil is a very high silicon aluminium and not a liner, you have to machine the bores in a specific way to expose the silicon and that is your hard wearing surface.
I could just buy another 4.4 crankcase and swap it out but where is the fun in that and besides it may already have 200K miles on it, if i am going to do it, i want it to be like new - then i will sell it at great loss and buy the 5.0 SC..oh hang on
Oh and no duplex chain, it is identical providing i swap out the crank and pistons and looking at it i will need to machine it out as the crankcase has casting allowance for the starter motor to be on either side so i may also have to blank off the other side, effectively it is the same blaock for the M62b35, 44, 4.6 and 4.8 but the 4.8 is more involved ans i looked art boring mine to 4.6 but the pistons are rare and would cost more than a set of forged pistons to suit steel liners.
well that is this thread hijacked and the OP insulted - all in a nights work
You could fit a 4.8 in theory but again it could already be fooked and will return you around 370 BHP new which is what i would expect to get from an SC on a 4.4 but would be brand new. THe m62B48 engine is a not common and has other modifications to head gasket / other shiney metal stuff / electronics / mapping n tingSo a 4.8 hoicked out of an X5 is a no go?
