Hi,

Im going to buy some offroad tyres for my disco one and i wondered if anyone could recommend a brand or place on the internet to buy them? Im after atleast 80% off road.

Also i have 16" alloys, is it advisable to put the tyres onto the alloys?

Also what profile tyres should i be looking for?

What height of profile can i get away with on the landy without having to mod the arches, an extra inch ground clearance could be very useful.

I have been looking at these:
- Kumho_Tyres

but i dont know which profile to go for.

236/70/R16 are the road tyres which are currently on my alloys.

New tyres would be preferable, but also if anyone knows of a set second hand which would be perfect feel free to say :)

i have just purchaesd a set of kumho kl71 235/85x16. they are a good tyre but may not fit on astandard disco without modifications. go for the 235/70 which you say you already have. i can get them cheaper than paddocks. if you are interested send me a pm
 
What modification is required for a 85? As the extra ground clearance is going to be essential.

I expect to be contacting you shortly if you can indeed to them cheaper than padock.
 
Hi m8 just put some 205/80/r16 insa turbo dakar mud ter on my disco 1 seem a good tyre done over 1200 miles not got stuck yet:p
 
i agree the insa's are a good remould tyre but the kuhmo's are new. now prsonally i have nothing against remoulds but at the moment there is a shortage of remoulded 4x4 tyres in the country due to the collapse of colway/greenway, and insa are struggling to keep up with demand
 
its easier to ask than search. get direct answers then. Like yours.

Strictly no re-moulds for me.

Aye but that's probably a bit difficult fer some of the newbies on here. delicate souls they are. And the thought of actually having to do something fer themselves gives em the collywobbles.
