Hi I am having probs with my off road suspension not working. I have the sls light and off road light lit up on the dash. The off road mode does`nt ping when switch is pressed & I have tried another switch to no avail, checked the fuses & relay and their all good and also checked for continuity where fuses and relays sit, again all good. airbags work fine and raise up when engine is started and the airbags and ride height sensors were both replaced within the last two years, so am hoping their good too. I even bought and fitted the wabco suspension rebuild kit, in case it was struggling to keep up with air supply. Is the problem more likely to be with the slabs ecu or similar ? I have hawkeye wich has`nt thrown up any codes but a friend is borrowing that and when he returns it this weekend, is there anything I can check using it ?

Dan.

If something is wrong then the audible warning should sound three times to inform the driver that ORM hasn't been operated. When you get your hawkeye back then you can operate the system with that to see if there is anything physically impeding operation.

Neilly, those are the two lights I have illuminated. I just dont know why they are lit up when evrything else works as it should ? they stay on constantly & brianconwy I`m sure I`ve only ever heard the 3 audible beeps previously when the button has been pressed & it rises into orm? I will operate the system when I get it back from him if possible and report back.

Why are your airbags raising up when engine started? is there a leak that means the SLS is dropping when parked up.. just wondering coz it doesn't sound right.

it's completely normal as it's supposed to drop when you open the door and leave the vehicle then it will relevel when you hop back in and start it, it's described in the operation mode ;) ... the problem is with those two warnings which are on while the system is still working on simple relevelling mode...
....airbags work fine and raise up when engine is started....

@Royston 90
two things:
1. watch those two warnings, do they come on for ignition self test, go out for a second then come back immediately or they are on continuosly from the moment you switched ignition on II ...
2. can you see all the well known 3 amigos(ABS/HDC/TC) on ignition self test?

please concentrate and give 100% correct and complete answers to these questions cos it's very important for the troubleshooting as your problem is not a common one but i'm confident that i can help if i get all the info i need

I will confirm 100% when I get home tonight, but from memory they are on & stay on as soon as the ignition is on and they don`t go out with the rest of the dash lights. I will again confirm that the 3 amigos light up & off with the ignition self test later. I have had the three amigos before so I know wich ones they are. Thank`s so far for the replies guys, I`m dropping the box off over the weekend as I`m getting the second gear synchro sorted & replacing the clutch etc at the same time.

Right I`ve had chance to stick the key in and have a look. When I turn the key on all the dash test lights come on, then go out and the off road mode & sls re-appear, along with the handbrake, battery and oil lamp. Hope this helps, sierrafery if you like I can send you a 10 sec clip I took on my iphone (can`t find the cable to plug in and upload atm) if that helps ?

Yes that video would be good but the first conclusion is that the warning lamps are coming on triggered by the ECU cos that was what i was after to rule out the instrument pack... just confirm nothing happens when you push the ORM switch but the SLS is working to relevel as normal otherwise

Nope nothing happens at all when I press the ORM button. The suspension rises once car is started.

Quick update. I`ve got a spare abs ecu,so hopefully with help from sierrafery I can get it set up using Hawkeye.
Hi I never got round to looking into sorting the issue out with my ORM not working as it was a second vehicle, but seeing as I would like to try out green laning I think it is about time to sort it & retrofit the CDL too.

I believe you suggested that the SLABS would need to be changed for one with the SRD 000150 number to cure my problem ? And that should hopefully cure my above symptoms. Is this possible with Hawkeye alone ?

Dan.

A few months ago I also had problem with my ORM (also with CDL management) and by changing SLABS ECU (Thanks Fery) solved my problems.
(also an interesting thing: even the 3 amigos what I had before a few times have gone. Since i have the new ECU no amigos. maybe just luck though...)

Yes it is , all you have to do is to se it for SLS and calibrate height

That sounds encouraging I may get it swapped then this weekend. Do I need to save my current height settings or recalibtrate it once the new slabs is in ? Should I also disconnect battery to do this as a precaution or will this upset anything ?
