I went green laning at the weekend and the Disco was fine before - running like a dream. I didn't do any wading but of course, with all the rain we have had it was a bit wet. As soon as I got back onto road between 25-45mph the old girl just doesn't feel 'right'. Can't put my finger on it but almost like I am feeling a bit of wobble / vibration coming through the steering wheel between these two speeds. She also feels a little sluggish but not sure if that is all in my mind. I had a look at the balancing weights on the wheels and they all look fine. Any ideas?

Jack it up and check wheels for play, you may have finished off a wheel bearing or swivel house bearings.

Any knocking? Or just vibration?

As said above, mud on the inside edge of the rim can cause vibration. I had this on an m3 after a drift day at Oulton park - they spray muddy water on the track. It had set on the rims and vibrated like mad on the way home!

The first ever time I went greenlining the same thing happened to me......I soon realised that I'd not unlocked the diff and it had wound up. Don't tell anyone though......

Mud on the inside of the wheel, lost wheel weights, ripped chunks out of tyres, wheel bearings fubar, suspension bushes torn through too much flex or age, bent track rod or steering arm, track rod end fubar, warped brake disk, uj on prop going, diff pinion bearings collapsing, prop bolts loose, bent something, diff lock still on even though light off...........

the list is fairly endless and i have had most at some point or another.

you need to get under and start working through the list im afraid.

Cheers, went out in it today and only seems to happen around 40 mph and when under load. If I am at 40 and I take foot off the accelerator and she coasts then the vibration stops. There is no knocking or pulling, just a horrible vibration. In a way it is the kind of vibration you sometimes get if in high range difflock but if stuck on I would surely get it at all speeds, not just around 40mph?

Sounds like something knocked out of balance to me. You don't have to knock a weight off to cause balance issues just dent the part in question. But id also be checking bearings and bushes.

Could be the rubber donut on the rear prop. Have a quick look underneath, it'll be obvious if it's that. Otherwise you need to jack it up and start checking through various components.
