As in take the viscous out and just use the aircon button to power the radiator cooling? Or is there a replacement mod or something?
I have a mod to use the aircon fans for the diesel, the mod with the addition of a switch in the cab would give you the ability to let the fans take care of the cooling but with an override to turn them off when needs be.
I run 2 P38 diesels with no viscous, they never overheat even when towing 3 tonnes in 30C.

I’m spoilt for choice. Looks like the pressure washer is the most practical. However, I have had problems with the viscous fan before and I asked the garage this time if I could use an alternative but they did not know of one. Datatek, I’d be interested in how your mod works because I’m sure I’ll find myself replacing the viscous fan again!
Thanks for all your advice.

Interestingly I kept having issues with my electric fan so have gone back to a viscous.

What about a wading blanket?

PM me with an email address and I will send you details, the new forum does not like my data files.

I have a mod to use the aircon fans for cooling, nothing to do with the aircon button which will not necessarily bring the fans on. Works well on the diesel in all conditions I have encountered. Most if not all transverse engined cars many with much more power than the M51 use just electric fans.
