I have just inherited a freelander mk1 (2001) and for some reason the LCD odometer is almost entirely black. I can just make out the last digit on the right! It's almost like the LCD has bled over the screen. Can I fix this myself and if so how?

Sounds like the LCD is bust. I guess the easiest thing would be to get a dash out of a different FL and swap them over.
