Glad you have have got your car back, but two things are baffling me.
1- why are you running round doing all this for your insurance company. It should be returned to you as it was before it was stolen.
2- if it is fitted with a tracker, why did it take 5 days to recover it.
Hi
On the first point - because my insurers are pretty naff and I don’t want a vehicle back that wasn’t as good as it was when it was stolen

The second point also baffles me. Vehicle was reported stolen on a Friday morning. Police phoned on Monday morning to advise that we had a Vodafone tracker fitted (we had private plates on vehicle so I guess they got info from VIN. Then Vodafone wanted proof the vehicle was ours and £400 to advise the police where it was. I wanted to make sure the insurer would reimburse the money since the police thought the vehicle would be in a chop shop and we may just track a chassis. That was Monday - SOCO went to vehicle Tuesday and recovered it to police compound. More confusion since the vehicle was stolen in W Mids police area and recovered in Warwickshire police area. It has been a nightmare and we even had to pay police compound for release of vehicle and recovery and storage. (Claimable from insurer eventually).

Five days is quick for the police in one area to talk to and get answers from another ...

Try working with them ....

Makes it worse when guy dealing with it goes on two days leave before nights - no one picks it up! We were having to call him at 7 o’clock in the evening when he came on shift. Pretty helpful though. Most helpful were forensic guy.

I think with all that hassle the insurers can keep the fcuking car!

30k for a 2013 model is way over top money, so take the 30k and run really really fast.

hi mate

indeed, from going by other discos for sale inc the D3 forum, that’s worth around £22k at the current market , However it will now have a marker on it being stolen / recovered so when sold maybe £19-£20k

don’t know if u think it’s worth around the same but I would also be very tempted to take the money and buy another one

Finally got some closure with the insurers. After a great deal of confusion and discussion with their engineer they have offered to 'right off' and offer the vehicle 'for salvage' value and need to make £15k on it to give me good 'market price'. They say that they have an offer already so we may get a settlement price from them any day. Took advice from the forum here and didnt really want a vehicle with HPI of stolen and recovered with the associated 'clocking' issue. That would undoubtedly affect future value and its our asset - insurers dont really care about that angle. Insurers have indicated £26k.....but we will see. We paid £28k in May with 37,000 on clock (HSE Luxury with lots of extras).
