Hi guys

thinking of fitting my c b in the disco and wondered as i don't use the disco for off road will velcro stuck to the dash and the under side of the c b hold the c b in place as i don't want to drill holes in the dash.

Yeah decent Velcro will do it. Sellotape iirc do what's called "heavy duty hook and loop" its that 2" wide black stuff on a little roll, that's got great glue on it.

The cb itself will stop the glue getting too hot anyway.

Cheers.

SWR meter is only few quid and makes setting up the aerial so much easier. and do it away from buildings and stuff. google for instructions

right... i'm clawing my thread back (for a moment, at least!)

I just ordered the following:

1x Package Deals & Starter Packs - 4x4 Packages - BasicPLUS Offroader : 4x4 - Danita 3000 Multi Package Deal with "Large Springer" aerial and roof rack mount (to go in the middle of the spotlight bar) and a cigarette lighter plug (for use until I figure out how the wiring needs to be done).
1x Basic SWR meter with FREE connecting lead

If 4x4cb have time today, i should receive it tomorrow! :D

Any idea what range I should be able to receive and/or transmit in the flat fenlands with this setup, given that the aerial will be in the center of the spotlight bar??

Set-up correctly it should be good for at least 10 miles range (without obstructions).

Just had a call from Jim at 4x4CB, the Alan121's have arrived, so should recive it tomorrow.....:D:D:D:D:D:D.

Any one got any ideas about the live in the sunroof button area yet?, or i'll have to run a new live........

right... the CB is now mostly installed!

question though.

CE or UK? The CB shipped with CE frequencies only. The manual is confusing, but the CB also has a "UK" mode.

I've looked this up online, and from what I understand, "UK" is what has been used for years and "CE" is a new set of frequencies for the UK (and other countries) setup in 1996.

Which do most people on UK roads today actually use?

The scan feature will scan through all 40 channels on *either* UK *or* CE.

UK mainly mate i reckon.

theres so many free uk channels theres no need to tune elsewhere...

so if "UK" is used nowadays across the UK, why did my brand new CB come pre setup for CE? bit weird that, surely...

ERR cos it was made in china or Taiwan and destined for Europe. But for some reason the UK doesn't recognise itself as been part of EU. Unless it there's a way for big Business to make a profit. Or the farmers are grubbing for subsidies. Then we is all European
