Please can anyone point me in the right direction when it comes to obd 2 Bluetooth devices? Want to run one inmyv car which is a1997 model on my android phone? Will it work on my car have found the port etc however supplier wise I have not yet had a firm answer and not willing to part with any cash until I do. Anyone running one and if so whats best for me to buy?

If it's a petrol you may get engine data but nothing else. If it's a diesel you will get nothing at all.
 
I am using the Android app Torque for the same reason you want it for.
My car is a 2000 Thor 4.6 though.
You will need a Bluetooth obd scan tool, something from Amazon like this..... Auto Car Diagnostic Scan Tool ELM327 Mini Interface V1.5 Bluetooth Version OBD2.
 
Anything with the elm327 should work so if money is a concern, do a search for "elm327" and buy the cheapest.
