A shame, as you say, well worth a shot. Maybe try a few online breakers & see if any of them have got something worth having. Hope you get sorted.
ps. couldn't have happened at a worse time either.
 
Finally the clutch coil has been rewound and the diode rehoused in a blade type fuse holder. All tested and working just got to fit it now.....

Looks like another good Chaser repair on the way. Always the way though, bet your gutted you dumped that gas now....

Gutted indeed Darmain, cos I could have taken the re-gas kit back to halfrauds. I'm kicking myself for not checking the clutch engagement first but I was fooled by the fact the Ecu picked up the revs when I switched the AC on. I mistakenly thought that it has 'sensed' the compressor turning.

One consolation, the guy didn't book the rewind through so just bunged him a tenner, both very happy! Oh and now have a better understanding of the Ac system. :)

Glad to hear that you should be sorted soon. Check out ebay for refill kits, I saw some there that weren't too badly priced.
