I hope you got the replacement trick which means battery disconnected before the swap then after reconnection ignition on II 5 minutes for digital data syncronisation
Unfortunately for this symptom you can't rule out things in a different way and the IDM(fusebox) is usually the first call cos it's cheaper, it's plug and play and it can trigger that crossed B as well as the BCU. You was the unlucky one, in this case you have to swap the BCU but this one needs complex programming with dedicated tester ....... if you dont have access to tester another option is this https://callrova.com/land-rover-discovery-2/ or other ECU repair shops cos there are some in the UK
Thanks sierrafery for that, typically my luck. Have just spent a fortune on the damn thing, clutch, flywheel, reconditioned transfer box and power steering pipes. Hopefully this isn't another big bill. Love the old girl, but pockets are not bottomless. How much do you think I can expect to pay for this? Have sent the CallRova guys an email. Also have used BLRC local LR specialist recently - expensive though, I've dropped nearly £2k with them in the past 6 months.
So swapped the replacement fuse box with my original. No change initially. But about an hour later all started working fine. Been 12 hrs now and all still seems fine. Cant get my head around this at all. Loose wire? Will take it to BLRC for a once over anyways I think- don’t want to get stranded. Looking good though, maybe she likes the new side steps I fitted yesterday lol G
Taking to to BLRC tomorrow - now won't start, "no crossed b" this time, just spluttered out and will not restart. Will keep you posted on what the BLRC guys come up with.
