When out yesterday an amber suspension warning light came on the dash, I pulled over to check it and the rear was very high with both airbags over inflated. Both ride height actuators were still connected and are not seized up so do I have a body ecu problem. Unfortunately whilst trundling it home the o/s air bag blew with an almighty bang so I now need to replace the airbags and will probably replace both sensors but I am assuming the actual cause of the problem is elsewhere. Anybody know what it could be please? I've done a search and can find loads of posts where one bag has over inflated due to ride height sensor being detached but can't find and help regarding both bags being over inflated with both sensors still attached.

Hi, put your location in your profile and there may be someone near you with diagnostics, especially when you've renewed your RHS and air bag to re-calibrate the height.

Thanks Griff, my location is Bolton , Greater Mcr. I have updated my profile (not great with computers) . Will the height need re calibrating if i disconnect the battery before changing the ride height sensors?

No, they shouldn't, just disconnect battery first, jack it up on the tow bar, and change bags and sensors

I managed to look at this today. I changed just the blown airbag and the suspension went up to max on both sides again. Disconecting the n/s height sensor and lowering it lowered the n/s bag, disconnecting the o/s sensor and lowering it did nothing. I took this sensor off and I could then see that although the plastic arm was moving the center spindle of the valve wasn' t. The arm was just spinning on the spindle. Somehow the spindle has turned and locked on maximum with the arm just spinning and not pulling the valve back round. I put a new sensor on this side and everything back to normal. I wrongly assumed if there was a sensor fault it would only affect one side. I will now change the other side bag and sensor.
Thanks for everyone's input.
