The landy has had a new rear cross member and clutch so I won't need to buy one myself. Is that what you mean?

There are loads of Landys with replacement x members, absolutely nothing to worry about if it’s been done properly.

Yes and no. I presume most of the 15+ old landy's have a rusted rear x member as they catch all of the mud... I have been told. So as long as the rest of the chassis is solid I shouldn't think there is anything wrong with a new one but as blue dog mentioned it must have been done properly!

Hi again. I looked up buyer protection on PayPal and they don't give any support for refunding motorised vehicles of any kind. Therefore is there any reason why PayPal would be a better method of payment than any other?

My PP account debits straight off my credit card, I believe this gives me more protection, fortunately never had to test that.

If its had a new cross member whats the rest of it like? Has it been oiled and they just didn't bother to do the rear? A rear cross member is really no different from any other part of the chassis, front outriggers are in the firing line, are they OK? Was it an extended cross member or just the rear part? For that kind of money I would be all over that chassis like a tramp on chips.
