So what you're saying is as I am over 25 I can go around Landy stealing all day long knowing the fuzz won't tug me. Until I shave off my face fungus and look about 12 again in which case I won't be able to drive my own vehicle without getting tugged? Ever get ID'd for derv? I have. Many many times.
But a bigger question is how do the fuzz know the driver looks under 25 when they are behind you in the dark? I haven't developed x-ray vision yet and I'm quite sure the fuzz haven't. The only way it'd work is if they pulled up alongside you to get a good butchers.
It is just PR rubbish, the TP will either end up tugging everyone with a yellow sticker or no one. My money is on the latter.

I don't think it will cause them any doubt about having your landy. They'll either rip it out the back window when away from your property, use a pikey key to the city to remove the rear window or just not give it any notice know the fuzz are few and far between. That is if they even notice it.
In theory it is a great idea, but in practise, it is worthless as there aren't enough TP on the roads to keep an eye out and unless they design spee- "safety" cameras to start patrolling the streets they will just be a token gesture, like those neighbourhood watch signs/stickers you see scattered around the country.
A better solution would be to stop wasting money on PCSOs and other gimmicks (like police sniffer dogs, they have been proven time and time again to be ineffective all they do is respond to their handlers reactions to a situation/person) and invest in proper coppas who give the crims a knuckle sarnie while shouting "YOU'RE NICKED!". Then you might have a chance of retaining your pride and joy.

just disconnect the battery or put a hidden relay switch through the ignition.. anyone breaking into your car wont be able to turn it on

I do already have some physical security in the way of disc locks etc, and a couple of other things planned in the way of discreet security.
Fair enough, they could smash the window, but the stickers dont come out easily, itd need a fair bit of patience with a razor blade.

Did they offer any information about how they are doing the thieving. Just thinking that if we know what MO is currently popular we might be able to counter it.
wow... thank you so much, i don't think anyone on here has ever thought about putting a hidden kill switch on the ignition circuit - and i'd nearly* bet my life no criminal has ever thought that someone would do that... i mean it's not like you could just pop the bonnet and very quickly start it by-passing the igntion all together.
Or... put it on the back of a lorry, or just tow it away where they could spend another 30 seconds looking for a "hidden" switch.
*my definition of nearly is as loose as bob's ass.

Sorry, but, if someone is just going to post up saying "just fit a kill switch and it will resolve all your issues" without taking the time to read this thread let alone one of the other million on here about vehicle security and theft then they can expect a harsh response.
I'll pass on the milk... but would take a pint?...

did read the whole thread... and have read many other threads was just saying as another measure..... yes if someone is going to come along with a lorry etc and tow it off well then they are pretty much prepared to nick your beloved car... if its some little bastard who on a passing whim sees your landy and breaks in tries to nick it. im not saying that this is the be all and end all of solutions. it was just a idea you could say that whoever posted up their idea of a security measure was to chain their land rover to the ground is silly as a set of bolt cutters or a angle grinder could get through it... and also thats only really a home security measure as i dont think councils would be that impressed with you making holes in the roads/car parks every time you leave your landy somewhere. (whoever wrote that post not having a go at you) everyone is entitled to put up there thoughts just giving a suggestion.

Actually... i think you're onto something with that idea... if we all go around digging up car parks and installing ground anchors to chain our Land Rover's to then post up the locations of the "secure" car park spaces onto Google Maps or similar then it would benefit the whole community
