That smooth talker I could listen to him all day....oh, wait a minute :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I should have a spare ecu kicking about somewhere if it proves to be faulty.
That said, I'm away for 2 weeks then I'd have to find it!
They rarely fail though from what I've seen.

Question, if either the ECU or the relay are faulty, would the switch still light up when switched on?

Normally the cruise control is the vacuum pipe perishing. It is all good and attached?

OK, downloaded RAVE and not a clue

There should be a CD with it, but I couldn't download that :p

Looks like I'm going to have lots of fun trying to work this out! o_O

Did you watch the video posted above made by some smooth talker with a passion for expensive coffee, Land Rovers and McDonalds breakfasts? I think the chap did a good job to show how to:

a) Download RAVE
b) Ensure Adobe Acrobat isn't running
c) Install RAVE
d) Open RAVE
e) Open selected RAVE documents
f) Use the Electrical Manuals
g) etc......

Have got a copy of RAVE i downloaded years ago p38 2000 it lists all the fitting instructions for all the options available and also special tools
and part numbers
What it also shows is differences in model years but does not show them in the car park
Is it of any use & can it be uploaded??

Tried downloading RAVE again last night but when I open it up,I am not getting the green oval application icon just notepad icon and is read only

The one use for the cars runs xp got rave on that but only the basic one that's why I wanted another copy but the one I downloaded with runs 7
What gets me the other disc I have which is mentioned above, oh and it covers defenders also, that will install on 7 as per the video but it only puts
an icon on the desktop and runs from the disc but I think thats the way a lot of the old universal diagnostic machines worked ? so perhaps
I need to download an iso ?

Don't think so. Mine just installed on XP. When I switched to Windows 10 64 bit I copied all the files from the old machine into the C:\Program Files (x86) folder and make a shortcut to the executable.

Had windows 10 pro it was ok for a while but after a few updates it started to have issues quite a few times it froze and would not let me shutdown
also it did not recognise the disc drive so have gone back to 7 ultimate it's more stable

Right choice. I only went Win 10 because 8.1 was bl**dy horrible. I couldn't stop the effing "charms" menu from popping up all the time and the laptop became pretty much unusable. Win 10 has driver issues and is constantly trying to report every action back to Micro$hite. Windows 7 was excellent.

There are lots of sites where you can download 7 if you wanted to, one of the copies i have is dedicated to the make of my laptop
and is self activating so is legal

Right, Document on how to test the Cruise control pump. Dead easy and works well.

I have updated the rave folder in my dropbox. If you download the one called "rave" then just double click on the "rave-lr.pdf" file, it will open the first menu page then from that you can navigate your way to your model and the manual you need.
The good thing is, it doesn't need its own version of adobe reader and it has all the models in it from what I can see.
Let me know if it still doesn't work and i'll see what I can do.

Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the position of the actuator on a diesel, thought it would be on the EAS box like the petrol but it is not?
Have no info in my copy of RAVE.

The diesel cruise control is done electronically as far as I know. (in other words, no actuator)
