Behind the maelog's a bit dodgy. there are signs on the roadside saying no vehicles so any do gooder will know straight away that you're not sposed to be there. Plus it's in full view of the road.
I'd heard a rumour about tycroes circuit but there's nowt on their website. Someone has marked out a track on the land opposite the tyn tywyn car park, think it probably belongs to bodorgan estates who also own the circuit.

This little rant might be of interest to you I know he's moaning about bikes but the fact is that there are people out there gathering details and passing them on to the police Dave's Walk Eryri Snowdonia Blog - TARRED AND FEATHERED 1 - Scrambler bikes
It is a disused quarry area, i think the area is owned by Caenarfonshire quarries and I think Hogans have a finger in the pie, no fields belonging to farmers to upset and no gates or no cars allowed or private signage also public footpaths and rights of way to ramblersa and public. It gets a lot of use with bikes and quads as well as 4x4 and divers..apparently it has been open to Joe public for years I am trying to find out who owns the area and get some answers off locals I will give more details when i find out....I think a few must go further into the mountains and national park from here which I agree is wrong and spoils it for others, I stay in around the quarry on slate and mud and do not venture up the hills where the walkers go..it would be good to find out legal ownership and bounderies and possibly have a legal place to go..

It belongs to MacAlpines. they took over ownership when They bought all the blaenau quarries. Couple of friends are members of the snowdonia society and the South Snowdonia MRT and used to run a B&B in Tan Y Grisiau They were always getting complaints from their other members of the Snowdonia Society about illegal Offroaders. Mainly Bikes going over the Moelwyns and the Cnicht. Don't forget it is illegal to drive on any land not forming part of a public highway without the permission of the landowner. That means the police have the right of prosecution regardless of whether or not a complaint has been made by the landowner.
Thanks for that ...from experience do you think there would be anything to be gained by contacting Macalpines for permission or do you simply get classed as an annoyance and deemed very antisocial...?..due to possibly what may or may not have gone on in the past..?

You could contact MacAlpines the local quarries in Bleanau will probably refer you to Head Office (London??) and they'll know nothing about the quarry or refuse point blank because if they give permission they become liable for any injuries or deaths. Try contacting the Caernarfon Slate Company as there was talk of them reopening the quarries in 2005/6 But it sort of went to the wall when MacAlpines rolled in. They may still hold the mineral/access rights.
