Just bought a 1.8 K series petrol and am having real problems starting from cold
Replaced plugs, leads, coil, dizzy cap and rotor arm,new battery but no good
Can hear the fuel pump in the back for about 5 seconds and once it does fire after trying for ages it's fine and no probs when the engines warm
Any help out there please?

Does it run rough when it starts?

When you try and start the engine - does it help if you put your foot on the accelerator?

Thinking maybe faulty coolant temp sensor - making the ECU think the engine is hot when its cold or faulty IACV (idle air control valve) stuck closed - this opens when the engine is cold to allow more air in. Or faulty crank sensor
