Hi all, my series 3 has developed a knocking from the front axle at low speed and a constant grind sound at higher speed, when nearly stopped u get thump thump thump , whether straight or cornering, wheel bearings done recently, oil change also, not a clue where to start, help!!!!!!, have had a search on here and found nothing of use as far as I can see, simon

jack a wheel up in turn and feel for playbreak in drive shaft uj ,feel/rotate front diff flange to check diff ,the first bit of play is crown wheel and pinion backlash the next diff gears ,halfshaft

Free wheeling hub partially engaged?
I had a similar issue when test driving a series once and one fwh wasn't fully engaging

Thanks for advice guys, found bearing at back of differential gone completely, and leaking oil out badly , looks like my diff upgrade will be sooner than planned, prop coming off at mo,
