Got a noisy bearing somewhere in the aux belt set up, have replaced pulley bearings and replaced tensioner, think its fan bearing but the bottom one has a small leak so it could be that. Any idea how to find out, have tried long screw driver to listen but both sound the same. Bottom one has a bit of play but they are damped. Noisier on idle than under load plus if i slacken tentioner it gets quieter. Are the fan and bottom bearings difficult to replace.
Thanks any help appretiated

Sorry mate! Never done it so dont know.
Only way to find out is probably to take them off and have a look.

Turns out its the crank pulley, looking at the manual it looks quite straight forward ( yeah right ) it says to remove radiator, can it be done leaving rad in as that will take more time than the pulley to remove and refit.

Definately the crank bearing? My viscous fan bearing is noisey when started but after she warms up it disappears:D. just a thought.

would you like to have a radiator with a hole in it as well? best remove it mate. Then a crank bearing? are you not talking about crank dampner?

yes its the crankshaft pulley TV damper, manual says remove rad, but read a how to on another site and the guy done it by putting a thin metal sheet in front of rad but it still looked tight, will probably take out rad and get all the mud out of at the same time.

Saves damaging the rad and you can also back flush it at the same time. With winter on the way dont forget to fill it with red OAT antifreeze.

Flushed and replaced the cooling system a few months back with red OAT, when I put on silicon hoses.
