Please somebody give me some help.

I have had my DSE about a month and half now and think its the best ever but, its pushing me now.

Has any other members came across these probs. When pressing or releasing the clutch pedal there is a clunk/grinding/engaging noise!!!

Also when the car is taken out of 5th gear there is a noise that sound very similar to a electrical noise such as a relay switching or similar.

The car drives really well and has no major noises when driving.

any advice is welcome as this is a nice car and I don't want to be searching for faults with it all the time.

if it does it in all gears then clutch release bearing first port of call, if it quietens in 4th then it's most likely lay shaft bearings

If I remember right it does it in all gear but will check it over tommorow and have a good listen, is it worth me running it to the local clutch centre

A good way to check is to drive up the road and release the throttle if as soon as you touch the throttle you get a noise then it's a fair bet it's gearbox.

If the noise varies with engine speed and not road speed suspect clutch, I'm not 100% but I seem to remember DSE has duel mass flywheel as well.

I wouldn't recommend the local clutch centre, I would suggest a forum recommended specialist or someone local to you who can listen.

where abouts are you

Burton on trent near Derby.

There is a slight chatter noise when the throttle is dropped of on the odd occasion but nothing noticable when pushing throttle down. the noise is more noticable when stationary and appears just before the biting point.

Other then that only noise I have noticed is a clunking if the clutch is released then pressed back down sharply.

I also passed a garage today called Doncaster Country Vehicles.

They say they are a independant land rover specialists so I popped in and asked if they know of anything obvious and after realing it all of to them they even suggested worn UJs as the noise is only heard when in gear and a release bearing might be heard regardless
