Hi guys and gals, question. When I go to start my car I hear 3 dings, i.e ding ding ding.
No warning light and no faults. Any idea

Thanks

This info is in the D2 owners handbook.

A warning chime will sound 3 times if
changes to or from off-road height are
requested but not permitted.

I got into the car let all lights on the dash go out switched on with no belt and no dings. Put the belt on 3 x Ding.

Just about to do it now. I have also read that it is a diagnostic check and nothing to worry about ?????

Strange

Double check the ACE light comes on (if you have/had ACE).

I had this symptom when the guy I bought the car off had ripped the LED off the board.

My disco2 doesn't do 3 chimes on startup - it's not normal.

Read your handbook under AUDIBLE WARNINGS

Seat belt reminder
In some markets, if the driver's seat belt has not
been fastened when the starter switch is turned
on, a warning chime will sound (one second
frequency). The chime operates in conjunction
with the seat belt warning light and sounds for
6 seconds, or until the seat belt is fastened
(whichever occurs first).
In Gulf States markets, either; the chime will
continue sounding indefinitely until the seat belt
is fastened, or; the chime will sound for 6
seconds whenever the driver's door is opened
and closed with the starter switch turned on.

Mine is even worse ( Californian motor regs) You can start it without the seat belt fastened, but will not select drive. If you take the seatbelt off when you are in drive it sounds like a mad Tonibell ice cream wagon !!
All to do with the "Bathrobe" option...Dont ask!!
